About El Alsson British & American International School:
The British International School is a fully accredited member of British Schools in the Middle East, and is an approved centre for Edexcel and Cambridge GCSE, IGCSE, AS and A-Level examinations and has undertaken a valid and up to date British Schools Overseas inspection in October 2021. The British School is a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Programme*, which runs alongside the UK National Curriculum in Years 7-9. In our primary section, the International Early Years Curriculum and International Primary Curriculum are delivered alongside the UK National Curriculum. The British School delivers the proven system of British education to children aged 3 to 18: from Foundation Stage 1 to Year 13.
The majority of our students are Egyptian, and so the Arabic, Religion and National Social Studies programme that we offer for first language speakers throughout the school is certified by the Ministry of Education and meets the requirements for Egyptian students through all phases of National education: Primary, Prep and Secondary up to Thanawiya’Amma and fulfils all curriculum requirements for entry into Egyptian universities. We also provide Arabic as a Second Language for foreigners throughout the school, and this can be taken as a GCSE subject in Year 11.
The American International School is available from Pre school – G12. El Alsson offers the American curriculum in a most professional and modern way and more than meets the standards of NCA CASI (The North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement). The curriculum and supporting programs are balanced and cater to the academic, social and emotional needs of children. Our High School program offers students the choice of many electives and Advanced Placement courses. Students may complete an American High School Diploma or the IB Diplomma Programme, both of which enable students to enter prestigious universities in Egypt and abroad. An integral part of the school program is the development of critical thinking skills and personal qualities to prepare students for future success.
El Alsson offers a wide range of activities to enhance the broader curriculum: sports, performances, leadership programmes, charity projects, MUN and many other clubs.
